Job Description:

Join our technology leading team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Network Engineer seeking to expand his/her experience in the IT field by joining our team in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, VA.

The Network Engineer supports the 24×7 Operations of the 480th ISR Wing and the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DOC). The Network Engineer will work on a team responsible for the 24x& mission management and operations of the AF DCGS Enterprise Network.

The Network Engineer will:

Conductfaultmanagementtodetect,isolate,andcorrectabnormalnetworkandinformationprocessingsystemcomponent anomalies on a 24-hours-a-day,seven (7) days-a-week basis

Monitorallnodes for operationalintegrity

Respond to troublecalls

Initiate andmaintaintrouble tickets and other logs to document these anomalies as well as corrective actions

Populate and examine trouble and error logs for troubleshooting and capturing metrics

Providetechnicalsupport to resolve the problem or escalate to the appropriatelevel

Monitorandadminister network tools for troubleshooting andmetricsfor trendsanalysis

Log allnetworkissues utilizing the 480 ISRW approved system of record for problems,errors,andmaintenance in such a way to easily generatereports for trendanalysis

Providetechnicalsupport in datanetworkplanning,engineering,anddesign

Report alltroublecalls uponreceipt to the MCCin the DOCandprovide hourly updates untilresolution unlessotherwisedirectedby the DOCCrewCommander

Providequarterlymetricsillustratingtrendsandworkload to the COR in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (CDRL)

Provide network architecturemanagementanddatatraffic routing for classifiedISRdata on the Wide AreaNetwork(WAN)anditscomponents

Providesupport to the DPA 24-hours-a-day,seven (7) days-a-week

Detectnetworkfaultsandinitiate troubleshooting andrestoralactionsfornetworkcircuits,trunksandequipmentfor the DPA

Initiateandmaintaintroubleticketsand other logs to document these faults as well as corrective actions

Perform activities in support of the DOC’sPEDTaskingOrder(PTO) such as provisioning bandwidth between DCGS sites and the preparation and testing of circuits

(Requirements):

Must possess a TS/SCI Clearance

Minimum of five (5) years of Enterprise Network Management experience

Possess IAT Level II Security certification.

Demonstrated knowledge of routing and switching

The likely salary range for this position is $74,800 – $101,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
