Marine Construction Estimator

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs of marine construction projects, including bridges, piers, seawalls, and other waterfront structures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using HCSS Heavy Bid software and possess at least 5-10 years of relevant experience in marine construction estimating and civil site work construction. A degree in Civil Engineering/technologies or a related field experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

· Analyze and review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for marine construction projects.

· Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for materials and services.

· Use HCSS Heavy Bid software to estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment.

· Prepare detailed written bid proposals and presentations for clients, including project timelines, costs, and scope of work.

· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to develop cost-effective solutions to complex construction challenges.

· Monitor and support project job costs throughout the construction process, including change orders and additional scope of work.

· Provide regular progress reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

· Bachelors degree in civil engineering/technologies or a related field experience (preferred).

· 5-10 years of experience in marine construction estimating.

· Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

· Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid software (preferred) · Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
