Description of Responsibilities:
Provide accounting assistance to the accounting department to maintain accurate, reliable records in a uniform manner.
Manage invoices in the workflow system.
Prepare 1099s, 1096s, and AL 96s as required by the IRS.
Reconcile accounts payable, un-invoiced materials, and manual accounts payable general ledger accounts each month.
Maintain credit card logbook and records authorizing new card requests, cancelations, and balance modifications.
Track purchasing card balances during storm response or emergency.
Prepare journal entries as required.
Assist in the observation and testing of inventory cycle counts.
Assist with other projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent. Additional formal training in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
Must be able to use a computer and all necessary Microsoft applications and iVUE.
Knowledge of accounts payable, application of sales and use taxes, and IRS annual reporting requirements.
Must maintain high accuracy, confidentiality and meet frequent deadlines.
Must know the principles of effective communications.
Working Conditions:
Office environment.
Occasional travel to workshops to improve skills and stay abreast of new procedures.
