Position: Driver
Job Summary: The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of clients who are unable to transport themselves.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
– Safely operate and drive the company vehicles in accordance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
– Follow assigned schedule to ensure timely delivery or pick-up of passengers.
– Respond to calls from Dispatch for pick up in a timely manner.
– Load and unload goods or assist passengers in boarding and alighting the vehicles as required.
– Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior, including biweekly vehicle cleaning and conducting regular monthly inspections and monthly maintenance logs to ensure it is in good working condition.
– Adhere to all safety regulations and traffic laws while driving, ensuring the safety of passengers, goods, and pedestrians.
– Manage WEX Card associated with assigned vehicle in accordance with policy.
– Communicate effectively with dispatch, LBHS Staff, clients, or passengers to address any concerns or changes in the transportation schedule.
– Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery or trip logs, and maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
– Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage immediately to the relevant authorities and management.
– Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanor during interactions with clients or passengers.
– Assist in the loading and unloading of goods as needed, ensuring they are properly secured and handled with care.
Required Experience/Certifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Valid State of Ohio Drivers License and valid car insurance
– Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations
– Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
– Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading
– Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen
– Must be 25 years or older
Preferred qualifications:
– CDL Blass B with passenger endorsement
