Financial Internal Auditor II

The Financial Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of an organization’s financial controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role involves conducting audits, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Financial Internal Auditor works closely with various departments to identify areas of improvement and to implement corrective actions to enhance the overall financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Financial Audits
Plan, organize, and carry out internal financial audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial records, transactions, and reports.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Risk Management and Control Assessment
Identify and assess areas of significant business risk.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls in mitigating risks.
Recommend improvements to enhance financial and operational efficiencies.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential issues.
Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Present audit findings to director and the department manager.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Advise management on compliance matters and best practices.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Develop and implement audit programs to test and improve internal controls.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall financial processes.
Follow-Up and Monitoring
Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
Continuously assess the effectiveness of internal control systems.
Education:
A BS / BA in Finance or Accounting highly preferred
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or a related financial field.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of auditing standards, financial regulations, and risk management principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Healthcare experience highly desirable
