Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Per Diem Registered Dietitian in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications:

Required:

Some weekends and holiday coverage required

High School diploma or equivalent Required

Bachelor s Degree in Nutrition or equivalent Required

Preferred:

Familiar with EHR such as Epic

Masters Degree in Nutrition or equivalent Preferred but not required

Minimum of 1 year Preferred but open to new grads

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Registered Dietitian with CDR- Required

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift

Per Diem Schedule (mostly weekend coverage about one weekend day every 3-4 weeks, some weekday hours as needed)

Essential Functions:

Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutritional therapy

Identifies patients at high nutritional risk based on criteria outlined by the hospital

Assess nutritional needs and identifies nutrient requirements according to age and disease specific needs of patients

Performs nutrition focus physical assessments

Develops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients

Facilitates continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of care

Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutritional therapy intervention

Provides nutrition education to patient and family members on appropriate food selections and eating behaviors to accomplish patient goals

Manages the delivery of nutrition care services according to area of assignment

Participates in performance improvement and research activities

Actively assess, evaluates, and maintains professional development and competency

Skills:

Communicates effectively with others

Ability to engage resistant patients

Excellent customer service skills

Flexible with change
