The Monument Field Inspector will be responsible for documenting inscriptions and design features of existing monuments through detailed impressions. This role will also be responsible for inspecting, cleaning and repairing monuments to ensure their preservation, integrity and personal significance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Processing and Sales locations on received orders and for checking existing jobs at various locations and understand status requirements.
Process paperwork and organize daily workloads to ensure orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain a professional relationship with 3rd party vendors and cemeteries.
Update electronic records in Monument Tracking System, daily, to ensure accuracy.
Utilize weekly reports to track order process and items for follow-up.
Communicate with sales staff and design team to understand specific needs, provide updates on work progress, and address any concerns related to the monuments.
Carefully create detailed impressions or rubbings of existing monuments to document inscriptions and design features, ensuring accurate records for maintenance or restoration purposes.
Conduct thorough inspections of headstones to assess their condition, identifying any signs of wear, damage, or deterioration.
Utilize appropriate cleaning techniques and materials to remove dirt, moss, and other debris from headstones, ensuring that the cleaning process does not damage the stone or inscriptions.
Perform repairs on headstones as needed, which may include stabilizing or reattaching broken pieces, filling in cracks, and addressing other structural or aesthetic issues to restore the monument’s integrity and appearance.
Manage regular maintenance of all necessary equipment and vehicles.
Order supplies necessary to preform job duties.

MINIMUM Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certification/License
Current New York state driver’s licenses with an acceptable record.
Obtain and maintain any necessary licenses or permit as required to perform duties.
Experience
Demonstrated proficiency in operating and maintaining small hand and power tools.
Monuments or related industry experience preferred.
Experience in working with data tracking software preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to obtain and understand cemetery rules, regulations and layout.
Attention to detail.
Ability to travel locally within geographic territory as required.
Accurate math skills.
Ability to think critically and offer practical options.
Proficient computer skills including MS office suite.
Clean and professional demeanor, communication and writing skills.
Work CONDITIONS
Work Environment
Work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
Local and multiple location travel required
Comply with Field dress code policy
Work Postures
Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
Physical Demands
Physical effort requiring manual dexterity and effort is required, includes shovels, tamps, operating lowering devices, moving dirt, digging holes, cutting tree roots, and similar physical effort.
Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 75 pounds
Work Hours
Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
Ability to work weekends.
Travel up to 75%
Pay:
$27.00-$32.00 an hour
