Hand Sander

This position is responsible for the daily hand sanding operation of various furniture products.

– Perform hand sanding functions by using a pneumatic hand sanding device or a manual sanding block.
– Primary function will be preparing and sanding laminated product with wood edges for finishing.
– Mask off laminated area of the product so it is not exposed to stain from finishing.
– Sand all edges/sides that require finishing.
– Mechanical aptitude and dexterity; ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions; flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and be responsive to changing work environments; ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers and to adhere to company rules, policies and standards of conduct. 
– Ability to read and understand drawings.
– Ability to work well with hands. 
– Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise, dust, paint/finish and glue or adhesives.  Must be able to stand/walk and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift up to 50 lbs.  
– High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent.
