Finance Assistant

As a member of Boscov’s Import Team, this individual will assist in the coordination Boscov’s International banking functions, including document review, use of web-based banking systems, reporting, and communication with Buyers, Vendors, Banking Partners and Coworkers. As the Financial Assistant, you will :

Work within International and Domestic banking systems to review and resolve discrepancies found on vendor invoices, process documentation, enter data, maintain updated records, and provide business analysis for International transactions. This includes reviewing accounts payable entries: verifying voucher numbers, vendor codes, amounts, and file numbers using internal and external systems.

Provide weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting, as well as audit support, when required.

Correspond in English via email and voice with vendors, banking partners, and colleagues, always maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

Maintain current record keeping system, both digitally and physically, for International transactions.

Work closely with internal leadership and collaborate with the Import team associates, Buyers, and Accounts Payable

Be a critical thinker with a willingness to cross train to learn new duties within the Import Department and assist in them as needed.

The best candidate will have:

Windows and Microsoft Office skills to include: Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn additional internal systems. Previous experience with Adobe, PeopleSoft or other web based accounting software is a plus.

Analytical skills with the ability to create reports in Excel.

Ability to maintain an accurate filing system, both digitally and with paper, for use in compliance audits, while maintaining internal record keeping requirements.

Excellent communications skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work and learn in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Ability to prioritize duties in order to handle various tasks simultaneously, and sometimes within demanding time constraints.

The ability to gain an understanding of internal company policies and procedures, as well as maintaining compliance to Customs and Financial regulations. This includes learning the requirements for maintaining Customs and Financial documentation.

Minimum of: an Associate degree/1-year experience in a retail environment OR experience working within a Payables Department OR experience working closely with an Import Team.
