Job Summary
The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, five-month, non-renewable non-tenure-track faculty position of Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences to begin in January 2025. The position is oriented towards effective undergraduate instruction and there is no research requirement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Teach 12 semester credit hours per semester
Curriculum Development
Service commensurate with expectations of all faculty
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree (for appointment at the rank of Visiting Instructor) or Doctorate (for appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor) in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics. Ability to engage in effective teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching introductory mathematics or mathematics education courses at the college level. Experience teaching online courses. Experience mentoring mathematics education students. Experience with recruitment.
