The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Food Service Supervisor at the Montana Mental Health and Nursing Care Center. The Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) in Lewistown is a licensed residential facility for the long-term care and treatment of persons who have mental disorders and who require a level of care not available in the community. TheFood Service Supervisor/CDM, CFPPensures the optimum nutritional status of the residents and implements diet plans and diet orders using appropriate modifications. The Food Service Supervisor determines amounts and specifications for purchase of foods, supplies, and equipment for the kitchen to ensure inventories meet quality standards and to maintain economic and efficient operation in the department. This position supervises sixteen food service staff members to ensure the department complies with all local, state, and federal regulations that govern the food service operation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Behaviors): Required for the first day of work: • Completion of the Certified Dietary Managers Course and maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional Certificate. • Knowledge of cooking and food preparation. • Knowledgeofmanagement of food service operation. • Knowledge of personnel management and supervision. • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills. • Ability to operate personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computerprograms. • Ability to facilitate collaboration and cooperation withothers. • The work is determined by goals and objectives, state standards manual, and facility policies. The position is expected to independently plan the program and use experience, judgement, and discretion in solving problems or making decisions.
