Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
This position is responsible for quality process AS9100. The role involves performing visual inspections to verify the paint, adhesion, and thickness that match the defined requirements of work orders. Responsibilities include handling nonconforming and age-controlled material, touching up painted parts, demasking parts, and part marking. You will conduct in-process and final inspections of Thermal Spray (Plasma and HVOF) and commercial and military aerospace parts. Inspections can include Coating – Pull and Band, Micro Hardness, Metallurgical examinations, Thickness, Tensile, Cup testing, and Water drop tests. You will need to maintain a working knowledge of Quality Process (AS9100) procedure requirements as they apply to inspection and manufacturing operations. This involves understanding and proper use of applicable procedures, specifications, and work instructions. The role also entails reviewing Shop Travelers and purchase orders to determine required inspection parameters and verification of completion of previous operations, correct quantities, correct references to workmanship/acceptance criteria, part cleanliness, and damage-free surfaces. Ensuring that all test equipment and materials are maintained in good working condition and that calibration is current for items requiring calibration prior to each use is also critical.
