Job Description
With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West Oahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West Oahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women’s center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state’s first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawaii that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.
Our Food and Nutrition Services provide quality nutritious meals to patients, visitors and staff while educating on the importance of healthy eating habits. We also work with medical staff to ensure accurate diet modifications for patients as needed. The department is responsible for performing a variety of general preparation and food service activities, including tray assembly and delivery, working in the cafeteria, cashiering, ware washing, assisting with pantry functions, nourishment activities and catering.
If you are a responsible and caring individual with great communication skills, you could share valuable nutritional and dietary information with Pali Momi patients and staff. As the Dietician Aide, you will help to produce patient menus based on individual care plans and needs, as well as other duties related to maintaining patient diet records and general office support for the department. Minimum qualifications: High school or equivalent. Post high school course in Food and Nutrition or Diet Therapy or equivalent work experience.
Preferred qualifications: Six (6) months of nutritional sciences or medical nutrition therapy or related experience.
