Job Description
With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West Oahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West Oahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women’s center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state’s first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawaii that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.
The Pulmonary Clinic in conjunction with the Respiratory Care department provides quality therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care for our patients with acute chronic cardiopulmonary disorders. Our team is composed of physicians, pulmonologists and other health care professionals who work together to diagnose and treat diseases of the chest and lungs with an emphasis on treating asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease and respiratory failure. Our staff performs computer-based pulmonary physiology studies, bronchoscopies, bronchial provocation testing, and exercise oxygen desaturation studies. The department also has a complete computer-based pulmonary function lab.
If you are detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills, you form part of the team that is responsible for the day-to-day operation and efficiency of the Pulmonology department. As the Business Office Assistant, you will support the general operations, including functions related to patient scheduling, registration, charge capture, and data entry. Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. One (1) year of general clerical or secretarial experience in position with public contact.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Business, Medical technology, or related field. Medical Terminology course. One (1) year of experience in a physician’s office or outpatient clinic setting. Experience with compilation and interpretation of statistics.
