THE POSITION

Join a dedicated team as the Nursing Professional Development and Practice Director for the Nursing Administration at UNC Health Blue Ridge, where you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to patients. Responsible for the professional development of teammates within the nursing departments. Provides leadership support for the team of Service Line Educators (SLE) as they function within the roles of educator, change agent, consultant, and evidence-based practitioner in their respective departments. Oversees the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs. Works in conjunction with executive leadership and directors of nursing and supports educational programs that foster the professional development of nursing teammates. Assist nursing with the development of department initiatives regarding staff development, education, competency assessments, and compliance with external regulatory and accreditation standards related to nursing practice. Must be MSN prepared. Minimum of three years of experience in nursing education or leadership role. Current RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina. Certification in Nursing Professional Development is preferred; certification required within 3 years of eligibility for professional certification exam. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider and instructor from AHA required.
