Collections Specialist

Description:

The Collections Specialist position is a key customer service and internal support role responsible for being a mentor and partner to other Collections Specialists, as well as taking on more complex customer accounting work.

Collections Specialist will work on and manage specific customer accounts to collection on past due payments. (looking for someone who has commercial/company account collections vs individual collections).

Run and format daily queries using multiple company-specific software/applications to show productivity increase/decrease on customer aging reports

Create and provide account balance spreadsheet with specialized reporting parameters

Liaison between assigned customers and internal departments to resolve billing issues and process conflicts

Discuss invoice discrepancies/errors with billing and operations departments to form corrective action plans

Ensure all work performed on customers accounts are notated daily and updated in the financial system for management to review if needed

Be a resource to Collections Specialists questions about processes, archived information locations, and applications

Mentor and hands-on support to Collection Specialists partnered with you

 Skills:

microsoft excel, collections accounts receivable

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Looking for someone who is a self-starter

2 year of experience in Finance, Collections, or Accounts Receivable

Professional communication via phone and email

Intermediate working knowledge of all Microsoft software applications, specifically Excel formulas and formatting (needs someone with Pivot Tables & VLOOKUPS)

Oracle knowledge is a plus

Transportation or Logistics collections experience is a plus
