The Estimating Manager will provide support to the development team. The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage the estimating function, deliver budgetary estimates and evaluate bids.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with developers, engineers, pre-construction project managers, and project execution to determine the best construction approach

Read and understand contract documents including relevant studies (i.e. Geotech/phase 1 reports) and permits

Incorporate benchmark data, trends and historical pricing to generate detailed cost estimates

Provide indicative and detailed estimates applying various estimating methods and mathematical models utilizing estimating software’s and tools

Identify risks and opportunities and maintain register

Conduct estimate review meetings across multiple departments including Development, Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Energy Marketing, Transmission, and Finance

Generate bid schedules for RFP packages

Review/abstract contractor bids

Conduct project hand-off meetings

Assist in the execution of project contracts and perform and approve change orders and invoices as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelors in Engineering or Construction related field from an accredited university

Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience; minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience

Construction experience is preferred

Competent with estimating software’s WinEst, HeavyBid, Hard Dollar or Bid to Win

Excellent math, computer, analytical and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible and adaptable to changes to planned tasks or schedules

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships

Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space

Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint and Teams

Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines

Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables

Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team

Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities

Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds

Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable

Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts

Able to travel 25% of the time
