Job Description

Working independently or as part of a cross functional team, utilize mechanical and electrical skills to detect, analyze, and improve processing operations on two established product lines. Develop, determine, standardize, and document solutions to engineering problems and issues encountered in the manufacturing processes. Work closely with product development, continuous improvement, operational and corporate engineering units within the division to analyze equipment, specifications, drawings, and other data to improve production processes to meet the goals of the company and its customers. Analyze existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequences that will minimize risks, costs, and waste; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of finished products.

Requirements

Education and Experience

3-5 years of relevant experience and a broad understand of acidified and low acid food manufacturing

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Certification in Process Technology Preferred

Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

Ability to complete Better Processing School Certification within one year of service

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Able to manage multiple projects/tasks and adjust priorities as necessary

Able to establish and sustain effective relationships with all stakeholders in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills

Able to lead by involving others in decision-making processes

Able to implement change, motivate others, and encourage team development

Able to influence others through demonstrated competence and respect for data and facts

Demonstrated understanding of technology including complexities of products, machinery and costs

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools – 5s, value stream mapping, SMED, standard work, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.

Knowledge of Industrial Engineering / Product Change Management processes

Problem solving and process optimization skills – PDCA, RCA, FMEA, RCM

Knowledge of Capital Project administration/project management processes and techniques

Knowledge of Process Design/process facilitation

Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically SAP

Must be able to read, write and speak English
