Job opportunity at chemical manufacturing company! Our client is looking for a Laboratory Manager to join their growing team.

PAY

$90,000- $100,000

SCHEDULE:

1st shift (M-F 6a-3p)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Develops consistent laboratory policies, practices, procedures, equipment, information management systems, and physical facilities to measure the quality of refinery feedstock, intermediates, and finished products.

Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.

Prepares and ships samples for customers & to external labs for special analyses.

Coordinates for the establishment and maintenance of quality control systems that operate in concert with laboratory systems.

Works with commercial groups to support product quality investigations on finished products.

Assists in the development and administration of laboratory capital and operating budgets including non-routine third-party testing and benchmarking activities.

Develops testing practices to prove the reproducibility of results both inside and outside the corporation.

Hires, trains, and manages laboratory team including employee evaluations, development, resolving issues, and taking disciplinary actions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field.

5 years of laboratory quality control, laboratory operations, or similar refinery operational experience.
