Position Summary
The Registrar’s Office provides foundational support for the delivery of services to students and faculty across campus. This position has responsibility for the operational and functional processes related to the student’s academic record and transfer credit processing. This position will manage transfer credit processing and will be a direct liaison to the Admissions Office to assist prospective transfer students understand how their credits will transfer to our degree programs. Given the scope of responsibilities involved in this position, a thorough knowledge of the policies that govern degree requirements for all programs and majors offered will be necessary to function in the position.
Responsibilities
Transfer equivalency table maintenance (50%)
Play a leading role in creating and maintaining transfer course equivalency rules in the uAchieve, Transferology, and the Transfer Evaluation System ( TES ).
Support the entry and maintenance of external transfer institutions, subjects, and courses in the foundational tables supporting transfer credit processing.
Research changes in course descriptions, numbering, etc., in TES /Transferology for external institutions and other sources of transfer credit and update transfer course equivalency tables as appropriate.
Using professional standards and existing campus policy for awarding transfer credit, establish transfer course equivalency rules appropriate for UW-River Falls’ undergraduate curriculum and program requirements.
Transfer course evaluation and equivalency (20%)
Acquire and maintain a detailed working knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, regulations, rules, statutes, and laws; ensure compliance with those requirements.
Acquire and maintain a detailed working knowledge of UW-River Falls’ curricular offerings and degree requirements.
Evaluate coursework taken at external domestic and international colleges and universities by new freshmen, new transfer students, currently enrolled/continuing students, and re-entry students.
Create new rules in uAchieve, Transferology and the Transfer Evaluation System ( TES ) for transfer articulation.
Update and audit student records with transfer credits adhering to established standards for timely and accurate processing.
Use reporting tools to regularly audit posted credit to identify and resolve issues related to articulated transfer credit and transfer course equivalency rules.
Partner with the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies to support faculty in development of pathway and articulation agreements.
Liaison to the Admissions Office (20%)
Assist the Admissions Office in unofficial credit reviews as needed for prospective students
Serve as a resource for course equivalencies for the Admissions Transfer Team
Serves as the primary resource for faculty and staff regarding transfer equivalencies and works directly with the Associate Registrar in updating rules in uAchieve and TES .
Liaison to UWRF department chairpersons, sending equivalencies to them for review and corresponding to them as necessary concerning transfer equivalencies and update the Admissions Transfer Team as appropriate.
Other (10%)
Serve on Registrar’s Office and intuitional committees as appropriate
Stay current with responsibilities through professional development
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Required:
Earned Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of one year of professional experience related to position responsibilities
Ability to work as a team and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues
Preferred:
Earned Master’s Degree
Experience with evaluation of transfer credit processing
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of student information systems (PeopleSoft/Oracle Campus Solutions), Perceptive Software or similar document imaging system, or Transferology/U.Achieve
Professional experience in a Records and Registration Office
