Teacher (Infant/Toddler)

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associates degree (foreign equivalent or higher), credit equivalent (60 credits), or completion of an early childhood accredited course. In lieu of the educational requirements, two (2) years of full-time experience in the field of childcare will be considered. One (1) year of early childhood experience working with children 5 years and under. Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Early Childhood Education or related field. Additional years (2) of experience working with children 5 years and under. Experience in a full day, early childhood/child care setting. Brief Description of Duties:
This is an early childhood team teaching position based in an infant/toddler multi-age grouping at Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc. The goal is to provide high quality care and education to children ranging in age 2 months to 3 years. Additionally, the Center is a practicum site for undergraduate interns who will be supervised and mentored by this staff person.
- Teaching: Provide daily care and education to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children aged 2 months to 3 years in accordance with Stony Brook Child Care Services, Inc. philosophy.
- Administration: Participate in administrative duties that involve scheduling, hiring, adapting curriculum, monitoring the condition of the facility, and availability of supplies.
- Student Intern Program: To include supervising and serving as a role model for undergraduate interns as well as participating in seminars and the grading process.
- Other duties as assigned.
