Job Description
The School of Supply Chain, Logistics, & Maritime Operations at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer position beginning in Fall 2024. This is a renewable 10-month appointment. Applicants with interdisciplinary teaching and industry outreach experience are especially encouraged to apply. The School of Supply Chain, Logistics, & Maritime Operations places high value on excellence in teaching and seeks to complement the existing academic strengths in the Interdisciplinary Supply Chain, Data Science, and Cybersecurity Schools.
The Lecturer is expected to be able to develop new supply chain, logistics, and maritime courses to support the growth of the School programs and meet industry needs for expert labor. The Lecturer is expected to perform committee service, student mentoring and program advising, and teach a 4/4 teaching load.

Minimum Qualifications – knowledge, skills, and abilities
Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
A strong commitment to teaching excellence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience interfacing with the Maritime and/or supply chain business community.
Experience engaging in outreach activities.
Minimum Qualifications – Education or training
Master’s degree in Supply Chains, Business Analytics, Decision Science, Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field, or a Master’s degree with a graduate certificate or concentration in supply chain or maritime.
Minimum Qualifications – Special licenses, registration or certification
Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Supply Chains, Business Analytics, Decision Science, Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred. Teaching experience in supply chain, logistics, or maritime courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Experience providing student mentoring.
Operations and Supply Chain, Logistics, or Maritime industry experience.
Interest in collaborative and experiential learning with K-12 and local Maritime and Supply Chain partners.
