THIS POSITION IS SHORT TERM, MAX 1000 HOURS PER CALENDAR YEAR
North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the Department of Energy. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customers mission. Available employment opportunities may range from administrative and logistical support to advanced technical positions.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day- to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.
The Human Resources Directorate within Operations & Business has an opening for a Training Liaison focused on the LLNS Leadership Institute. The successful candidate will provide a full range of services including planning, designing, developing, and coordinating for the Leadership Institute Program.
Essential Duties
– Serve as an advisor and program support to the Program Leader to advise and inform day-to-day progress and program direction.
-Anticipate where there has historically been challenges and issues and proactively advice Program Leader on solutions and options.
-Advise on critical program milestones, deliverables, and progress targets (e.g., project work, presentations, panels, Museum of Tolerance debrief, kick off, and end of program/celebration).
-Join select LI team planning meetings when needed for core program planning milestones.
-Support the development of content and learning assets including but not limited to participant materials, pre-work etc.
-Advise and support on session and MOT and schedule content, design, debriefs, surveys etc.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
-Bachelors degree in human resources, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, knowledge, and related practical experience.
-Advanced knowledge and experience in developing and oversight for people programs such as onboarding, employee services, development programs, etc., including generating the processes, developing performance measures, and analyzing data for outcomes.
-Advanced communication, interpersonal, facilitation and collaboration skills necessary to assess, write, edit, present, explain, advise, influence, and communicate program content and complex information to all levels of personnel.
-Experience working effectively both independently, and in a team environment.
-Effective organization, complex project-management, and detail orientation skills necessary to handle multiple complex tasks in a demanding environment with conflicting priorities, tight and changing deadlines, and frequent interruptions while providing high-level customer service and follow-through.
-Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate influence, and collaborate with management, facilitators, program leaders, specialists, coordinators, employees, and colleagues in a matrixed environment.
-Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, exercise independent judgment, make decisions, work independently, and determine and establish priorities in service to team vision and mission.
-Communicate program content and complex information to all levels of personnel.
– Perform other job duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
Pre-Placement Medical Exam: A job-related pre-placement medical examination may be required.
Pre-employment drug test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug test.
Anticipated Clearance Level: P (position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q- level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
