The responsibility of the Assistant Financial Controller will be to provide support to Operations, from an operational and financial perspective compatible with Hollisters Mission and Vision. This includes cost accounting, financial closing and reporting, annual operating plan, internal controls, fixed assets, inventory management and related activities. and other ad hoc analysis. This position will act as a trusted business partner with leadership and all functions in the Stuarts Draft facility. This is a visible and important position within the plant and with company leadership outside of the plant with the expectation to backfill the current Financial Controller in the short term.
Responsibilities of the Role:
– Serve as a trusted business partner to the Plant Leadership Team-driving performance, mitigating risk, and providing data driven insights that enable the site to achieve its strategic objectives.
– Review variances on daily, weekly, and monthly basis and provide assistance to ensure understanding- taking corrective action as needed.
– Track and report actual performance to plan and forecast.
– Assist in preparation and review of monthly performance reports.
– Communicate, drive, and monitor the plants productivity performance.
– Partner with execution teams for local implementation of the Hollister Production System (HPS) and company-wide IT systems standardization and upgrades (FFG).
– Assist with the development of all capital expenditure requirements (AFE) including the completeness, accuracy and performance measures.
– Assist with the management of plant fixed assets by overseeing physical inventories, impaired asset assessments and depreciation forecasts.
– Ensure SAP reflects accurate standard costs and perpetual inventory records.
– Ensure inventories are recorded in accordance with GAAP and adequate obsolescence reserves are maintained.
– Support the annual operating plan for the plant consistent with long term corporate objectives.
– Prepare and monitor monthly accruals, manage the month-end closing process, manage and review asset write offs.
– Analyze Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
– Audit and maintain internal controls and ensure proper segregation of duties.
– Assist in developing and mentoring the Stuarts Draft Finance Team to fulfil the long-term objectives of the organization in Stuarts Draft.
– Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions of the Role:
– Prolonged periods of sitting.
– Ability to interface with a computer for long periods of time.
– Frequent movement over large manufacturing floor area.
– Risk factors as determined in medical certificate.
Work Experience Requirements:
– Number of Overall Year Necessary: 8-12
– Manufacturing cost accountant experience.
– Prior supervisory work experience.
Education Requirements:
– Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
– Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar is preferred.

– Cost accounting in ERP systems environment, preferably SAP.
– Experience in a production company – preferred.
