General Position Description
The Regional Business Development Director articulates a company’s strategy and objectives and assesses how it will impact the business. They must define and oversee a list of dependent projects needed to reach the programs overall goals.
Conti Federal Services is Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, however, the exact location of this Regional Business Development Director position may vary.
Responsibilities
Markets the subject matter expertise the company has developed both internally and externally to win new business and heighten the companys reputation.
Investigates the marketplace for potential partners (large, small, and SDBs) prior to opportunities being released. Evaluates their performance and potential fit with the company. Works with the Estimating and Proposal teams to incorporate this information into bids and proposals.
Collaborate with the Operations, Proposals, Estimating, Marketing, and Contracts staff on proposal preparation. This preparation includes executing teaming agreements, identification of key personnel, drafting a technical approach, creating organizational charts, creating a project schedule, and identifying risks.
Pursues projects with profit margins in line with the companys goals.
Gather intelligence on, understands and can assess project competition.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of the companys history, projects, capabilities, and structure. Uses this knowledge to market the companys services to potential customers.
Working with the Proposal Team lead, lead the development of win themes, key differentiators, and executive summaries to drive decision making in support of comprehensive and compliant proposal submittals.
Actively develops client relations to generate opportunities for new work.
Actively seeks customer feedback on bids and proposals so the company management, estimating team, and Proposals team can determine high and low score areas, learn from this analysis and apply those lessons in future bids and proposals.
Provides excellent after sales service to existing clients under contract and past clients of completed projects with follow-up visits and phone calls.
Perform detailed analysis of bid documents (SOW, PWS., etc.) and specifications for federal projects to determine solicitation and scope requirements.
Gathers intelligence to identify and win projects through active interface with program stakeholders in decision-making positions.
Prepares for and sets goals for negotiations. Understands the motivations of the key players and decision makers in the negotiation and knows how to answer their questions.
Conduct debriefs with customers. Integrate strengths, correct weaknesses, and recommend improvements for future proposals. Ensure thorough and timely documentation of all proposal debriefs
Attends relevant industry events to strengthen the Conti Federal Brand, develop a network, and find prospects for future opportunities.
Qualifications
For Security Clearance Requirements – must be a US Citizen, as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
Ten or more years of program management experience in the US Federal Government contracting space.
Has a solid time management system, cost conscious, and demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills.
Excellent proficiency in MS Office products (primarily Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Willing and able to travel frequently and for extended lengths when required.
