How you make a difference
The Security Director assumes the crucial role of overseeing and managing the daily operations and functions of the security department, ensuring the safety and security of the client population and staff. They actively strive to meet the companys and contract agencys requirements, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency without compromising the overall safety and security standards. As a leader in security, the Security Director is responsible for maintaining a high level of vigilance, implementing effective protocols, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and manage security staff to ensure a safe facility by adequately staffing all posts and conducting ongoing environmental inspections and reviews of safety and security procedures.
Participate in strategic planning, budget development, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies for investigations, disturbances, and thefts, while also ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and facility policies.
Complete performance improvement reports, conduct compliance-related investigations, and implement corrective actions, along with timely completion of performance evaluations, mandatory trainings, and professional development activities.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, individualized care, and consideration of residents age and developmental needs when providing care and treatment.
Fulfill other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
Ten (10) years of work experience in a correctional or secure forensic mental health facility with at least five (5) years of managerial level experience.
