We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Procurement to lead our Purchasing and Sourcing department. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or the Senior Vice President (SVP) Global Controller, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement strategy, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring seamless integration of procurement functions across the merged entities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in procurement, supplier management, and team leadership, embodying best-in-class responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Drive positive impact: Manage and influence over $120 million in spend.
Develop and implement procurement strategies: Align strategies with business objectives and market trends. Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
Lead strategic sourcing: Develop capabilities, lead the team, and effectively drive strategic sourcing, including advanced Request for Proposals (RFPs) and demand/specification optimization.
Advise on category and sourcing strategies: Guide management and stakeholders in associated approaches and processes.
Scale processes: Develop a structured approach to scale processes as the company grows, including methodologies for onboarding new company acquisitions.
Implement best-in-class purchasing processes: Define and streamline workflows, enhance automation, and leverage technology to drive efficiency and accuracy in procurement operations.
Support the development and execution of new procurement policies and procedures to help expand the spend under management and contract compliance
Support the evaluation of technology solutions to help automate and improve the effectiveness of the businesss overall procurement process
Serve as a trusted advisor: Provide expert advice on all supply and supplier-related matters.
Negotiate contracts: Conduct commercial and legal negotiations with a balanced risk approach.
Communicate and influence: Act as a key communicator and influencer within the corporation.
Engage stakeholders: Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders at all levels, including the executive committee, broader stakeholder base, team, and suppliers.
Build strong relationships: Establish robust connections with business unit leaders and executives to become a partner and trusted advisor, enhancing the strategic value of Procurement within the organization.
Challenge the status quo: Continuously seek to optimize projects and initiatives.
Act as a change agent: Evolve Procurement capabilities (e.g., spend visibility, category management, contract management, sustainability, supplier diversity) to fit Procurement’s maturity journey and company growth.
Collaborate with Core Finance and FP&A: Ensure controls and value tracking to the Profit and Loss (P&L) account.
Manage procurement routines: Launch and manage effective procurement operating routines.
Build and manage procurement initiatives: Develop a pipeline of initiatives and manage them through various levels of governance, including pipeline meetings and steering committee (steerco) meetings.
Achieve savings targets: Set and meet annual savings targets and collaborate with FP&A to ensure spending controls. Develop and deploy reporting, decision trees, and validation processes. Participate in the annual budget process.
Hire and develop team members: Recruit and mentor Procurement team members to support objectives and become a destination for top talent within the organization.
Bachelors degree required, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
8 years of relevant experience in procurement, including at least some in Information Technology (IT) (e.g., software), and 4 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Experience with Coupa strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and effective prioritization, while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
Ability to operate strategically, tactically, and operationally in a fast-paced environment; builds scalable systems and processes rather than addressing single issues.
Significant influence and communication skills.
High proficiency in project management and analytics.
Strong business acumen, including financial acumen.
Exceptional leadership and people development skills.
Adaptability and flexibility; comfortable with change and challenging the status quo.
Expertise in procurement technology and processes to enable procurement maturation.
Demonstrated management capabilities, particularly in leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts, and achieving superior results.

Salary Range: $145,000-$200,000.
