Georgia-Pacific Dixie Consumer Products Operation is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Production Manager (Cup Converting) role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Lexington, KY. The Lexington facility uses state of the art technology to manufacture Dixie cups and lids in a progressive production environment. Dixie is a brand of choice and is widely used in homes and businesses across the country.
This role will be accountable for both salary direct and hourly indirect reports, the Production Manager has responsibility for all aspects of production operations in the Cup Converting department, primarily focusing on the performance of their team, and creating an environment that provides all team members the greatest chance for success while advancing our vision.
This role will provide expertise and leadership to support base operations and guide transformation initiatives/continuous improvement through risk reduction, compliance, quality, cost, and reliability. The leader in this role will improve the organizations growth through operational discipline, lean manufacturing elements and workforce capability development toward the goal of a world class manufacturer of Consumer Products. This position will report directly to the Cup Converting Product System Leader.

What You Will Do
Safety & Culture:
- Improve employee knowledge, capability and use of safety program elements
- Build and support a culture where employees identify risks and work to reduce them
- Partner with safety professionals to develop strategies and champion a safe work environment
- Adhere to plant safety, housekeeping, and quality efforts
- Develop an organizational capability in safety excellence
Operations Excellence & Performance Management:
- Improve Operations Excellence efforts and both departments competitive position relative to risk reduction, compliance, quality, reliability, cost, transformation, and capital deployment
- Develop team members into Principled Entrepreneurs through an effective organizational structure, including Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations connected to the facility vision
- Accelerate training and verification process of team members
- Coordinate with and advise the Product System Leader on operations strategy and implement changes as needed to embrace the sites ownership-based work system
- Partner with supporting capabilities to pursue the facility vision and communicate effectively with a diverse workforce
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Proven experience leading successful operations teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge and experience with reliability systems, work processes, implementation, and continuous improvements
- Experience leading and developing a team, crew, shift and/or department
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelors degree or higher
- Leadership experience working within a paper/pulp, or converting manufacturing environment
- Experience managing product systems
- Direct leadership of operations excellence improvements including Accelerated Manufacturing Transformation, Operations Playbook Implementation, or Asset Strategy Improvement efforts
- Experience working and leading in a union environment
