The Nursing Manager has direct oversight of the public health Immunizations
Program, including policies, procedures, operations, budget, and
outcomes; supervises program staff; is responsible for the full employment
cycle including employee recruitment, engagement, retention, employee
relations; and championing collaboration across program-related
cross-disciplin
While the full salary range for this position is $92,125.02 –
$147,161.04 annually, the anticipated hiring range is $92,125.02,
the anticipated hiring range is $92,125.02 – $119,643.42 annually.
This position will be located at 15400 E 14th Pl, Aurora, CO 80011
Duties
Operational Oversight
Performs complex administrative services and advanced practice nursing in
coordination of the Immunizations Program.
Provides direct oversight and management of Immunization Program policies
and procedures, operations, budget, procedures, protocols and/or
standing orders, ensuring compliance with established policies,
protocols, and standards of care.
Actively participates in the development and management of the Immunization
Program budget. Reviews and approves program expenditures. Secures other
funding sources and cost savings through grants, contracts, memorandums of
understanding, and third-party reimbursement for services.
Serves as Immunization Program leader by establishing and maintaining
Program standards and culture.
Effectively performs the technical duties of a Registered Nurse as needed.
Community Health Strategy
Serves as a community health leader through establishing and maintaining
community partnerships that positively affects defined metrics and outcomes.
Effectively advocates for Immunization Program-specific audience and
demographics by developing policies and services to address the
demographics health needs.
Monitors and actively works with contracting agencies to work within the
parameters of the associated budget and contract contract deliverables.
Completes and submits required reporting and program documentation.
In an advisory capacity, collaborates and serves as a member of various
community with public health agencies, community groups, and service
providers to present information and/or facilitate Immunization or Outbreak
Response practices.
. Program Team Leadership
Directly and indirectly manage Immunization Program staff, including
supervisors and all levels of employees, through coaching, training,
effective communication skills, emotional intelligence, progressive
discipline, and performance management.
Assure competent workforce and foster strong nursing judgement through
employee development opportunities, training programs, continuing
educational opportunities, delegation, special projects, and succession
plannin
Build and support collaboration and communication across multi-disciplinary
teams throughout the program, division, and the department and Agency
Leadership.
Uses critical thinking skills to assess policies and procedures that
directly impact the Community Health Nursing Division and programs.
Collaborates and coordinates activities of Community Health Nursing division
programs with other divisions, programs, or initiatives within the agency.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Responds, as required, to support public health emergencies,
incidents, and events. Employee participates in all exercises and drills on
emergency preparedness and response, as required. Completes trainings
identified as appropriate for this level employee and initiates corrective
actions and responses pursuant to Federal, State, and Local laws,
statutes, and regulations.
Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Requires a well-developed knowledge of the principles, techniques,
practices, and procedures related to nursing services.
Requires a well-developed knowledge of the types of vaccines available,
vaccine schedules, safety, storage and han ling and familiarity with
VFC/317 requirements. Ensures adherence to all VFC and 317 guidelines
Ability to develop and maintain Standing Orders and guides, oversees
staff training and competency with new guidance. Ability to develop
strategies to meet contracting agency deliverables and monitors and analyzes
immunization data to identify trends, report outcomes, and implement
improvements.
Ability to communicate effectively, including delivering hard messages
sensitively and compassionately.
Clearly and comfortably delegates both routine and important tasks and
decisions.
Ability to inspire and motivate entire units and organizations.
Must be a role model for teamwork and dependability.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) from a school accredited by the
National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the American Association
of Colleges of Nursing.
At least 5 years of nursing experience
At least 3 years of supervisory/management/leadership experience
Professional Qualifications: Licensed to practice as a registered nurse
(RN) in the State of Colorado or a Compact State. BLS and CPR certification.
