Inpatient Therapist

Job Description:The Therapist utilizes clinical expertise to develop and
implement plans of care appropriate care team, assess crisis situations to
appropriately provide needed resources and or referrals for the patient, and
to provide family and individual treatment as indicated. This position
provides care appropriate to the established plan of care in the assigned
patient population.

Scope:
Promotes mission, vision, tenets and values of West Pines Behavioral
Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency
and qualifications) based on business need.
Provide group and individual therapy using therapeutic techniques and other
outcomes-based approaches appropriate to group functioning and skills based
upon the information gathered during the comprehensive initial assessment
Document group and individual activities as well as progress and response to
treatment in the patients medical records as needed
Assess coping mechanisms and current functioning in the following areas:
mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal
effectivenes
Plan and develop group and individual treatments in coordination with a
psychiatrist and as a member of a multi-discipline team
Implement group and individual treatments ensuring a safe, comfortable
therapeutic environment
Manage patient crisis and provide verbal de-escalation to provide a
therapeutic milieu environment

Minimum Requirements:
Masters Degree in Behavioral Health
Must be licensed in your discipline within three years of hire (LSW,
SWC, LPCC, LMFTC)

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years mental health experience

Physical Requirements:
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess
patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent
interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that
require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken
information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately,
particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and
fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and
accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting
patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will
also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically
includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to
walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and
distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys
and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate
crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor,
etc.)May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate
dependent upon experience.$24.50 – $43.54
