Senior, Accounting and Financial Reporting – DLLP Payroll Accounting
Position Summary:
Deloitte LLP (“DLLP”) is the parent company of the function specific subsidiaries and includes accounting transactions (i.e. debt, pension, etc.) that occur at the parent level on behalf of the US firms.

Work youll do
The primary area of focus for this position is payroll-related accounting including, pension and employer sponsored compensation plans, payroll taxes, and fringe benefits. Additional work includes payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and subsequent analysis, as well as related day-to-day activities. This person will also assist and contribute to various department projects and process improvements.
Develop intricate knowledge of payroll-related accounts and processes including how the payroll system works and interfaces with the general ledger.
Collaborate with involved teams to identify opportunities to streamline and improve posting processes and accuracy.
Work with actuaries to accurately record and account for pension liabilities.
Prepare, review, reconcile, and analyze a diverse group of balance sheet reconciliations related to payroll, payroll taxes, employee benefits, employee notes & loans, and escheated property.
Ensure ledger balances in these accounts are stated accurately and work closely with involved teams to discuss issues, processes, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
Perform period-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and submission of recurring journal entries.
Assist with training and knowledge sharing as needed between the payroll, payroll processing and finance teams.
Support on-going transformation efforts to optimize accounting activities performed, which requires significant collaboration with the Finance Transformation team.

The team
The Payroll Accounting team within Deloittes Controllership function supports a broad range of accounting topics and issues. The team is primarily responsible for the US Firms accounting of payroll-related activities, including compensation, payroll taxes, fringe benefits, and employer sponsored pension plans. This includes reviewing and analyzing payroll transactions to ensure timely, accurate, and complete information is available and insightful.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Accounting experience necessary for applying proper accounting treatment to all transactions and for maintaining and reconciling various ledger and subledger accounts.
Intermediate to advance experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Access
Ability to work with virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries is required.
Ability to travel 0-10 %, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Limited sponsorship may be available.
Preferred
Background in payroll, payroll taxes, pension accounting.
Experience with SAP accounting software and Blackline.
Spreadsheet and database skills will be used heavily. The candidate will have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including v-lookups, pivot tables, and macros.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $72,900-$134,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
