The Facilities HVAC Technician is responsible for all facility systems such as Air Compressors, Steam Boilers, Water Heaters, DI Water Systems, Wastewater Systems and HVAC systems on the roof supporting the entire facility. This includes critical / non-critical Facilities and Manufacturing support equipment.
Primary responsibilities are to:
Troubleshoots various types of HVAC/R equipment malfunctions to identify and correct issues. Initiates follow-up actions as required.
Maintains, repairs and/or replaces various controls, including DDC and pneumatic.
Monitors various Facility Systems daily via BMS. Acknowledges and responds to BMS alarms.
Seeks ways to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Provide technical support to other Facility teams, Engineering projects, and other departments.
Assist Technicians with preventative and corrective maintenance in all manufacturing and facility support areas.
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance duties and document with sites computerized maintenance management system.
Oversee contracted maintenance service providers and contractors while they are on-site performing maintenance, repairs and projects on buildings, systems and equipment.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Massachusetts Refrigeration Technicians License
Universal EPA Certification
HS Diploma or equivalent certification
Minimum of 10 years experience with Commercial HVAC equipment
Proficient with Building Management Controls (Trane Tracer Ensemble BMS)
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word and Excel preferred.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority.
Must be customer service and quality driven.
Strong analytical skills, particularly with respect to identifying and implementing technical solutions to process, utility and facility equipment / systems.
Must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of Emergent and the Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry. This includes FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, EH&S regulations and company regulations such as the employee handbook.
Grade 2I wastewater license is preferred.
