Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm On-site

SUMMARY:
The Network Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Senior Network Administrator and is responsible for assisting in the ongoing support and operation of the data center and related data center infrastructure. This includes network related hardware and software, data storage, the physical and virtual server environment, server patch management, telecom circuits, and project activities related to data center infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Maintenance and installation activities may occasionally be scheduled after normal work hours and on weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participating in the design, implementation, and management of networks and storage systems
Monitoring, maintaining, securing, and optimizing network infrastructure, including but not limited to:

Network security protocols

Network, phone, and internet circuits

Firewalls, Routers, and Switches
-
Remote Network Access
-
Physical Servers and VMWare Virtual Server Environment

SAN Data Storage
-
Server Patch Management
-
Network, Internet, and Phone Circuits
-
IT Audit Response and Support
-
Following and Maintaining Department Policies and Procedures
Administration of network remote access services, such as VPN
Installing, configuring, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal downtime
Diagnosing, resolving, and documenting network issues quickly and accurately, and provide training and support to end users as needed
Troubleshooting and resolving network issues, such as connectivity, performance, security, and quality of service
Monitoring and troubleshooting voice and telephony performance, availability, and security
Receiving and responding to incoming calls, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity problems
Performing on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommending and implementing corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repairs
Adhering to established patch management procedures to securely maintain systems
Providing backup and high-level support to users and other technical staff
Maintaining network documentation
Occasional dispatch to branch locations for network and telephony support
Following best practices to prevent network and system security vulnerabilities
Data center infrastructure issue resolution and maintenance
Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors or associate degree in computer information systems or related field
Professional certifications such as CCNA and CEH are desirable
Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of network protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), routing, switching, network security, and storage technologies
Practical experience working with computer information systems and networking
Experience working with local and wide-area networks
Technical knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, VoIP, and network monitoring suite
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Demonstrated hardware troubleshooting experience
Understanding of disaster recovery networks and system design
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
Experience in dealing with vendors to maintain the hardware and software systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, and outside bank personnel.
Communicate Orally.
Normal daily physical activities to include: walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to read reports and use computer.
Occasionally will lift 20-30 pounds (files, cash drawer, etc.)
