TITLE: Sr. Credit Analyst

GRADE LEVEL: Exempt – Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Credit Department

REPORTS TO: VP Credit Administration

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

A seasoned commercial credit analyst that underwrites and monitors large and/or more complicated commercial loan relationships. Prepares loan portfolio management reports, and performs various administration duties in support of the Commercial Loan Portfolio. Meets with Commercial Loan Officers independently to discuss issues and ask questions. Applicants must be willing to perform all necessary job functions and uphold all customer confidentiality. May provide day-to-day supervision and support of lower level analysts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares credit approval memorandums for larger and more complicated commercial loan relationships, analyzing their financial statements, business, cash flow capacity, collateral, adherence to loan policy, etc.. to ensure proper credit decision and accurate risk ratings.
  • Spread more complicated commercial borrowers business/personal financial statements on the banks standard spreading software and according to established Bank procedures.
  • Performs analysis of a guarantors financial position to develop an understanding of any contingent liabilities and cash flow.
  • Complete annual reviews of assigned commercial loan relationships to ensure current information in credit file and accurate risk ratings.
  • Performs real estate appraisal reviews with supervision.
  • Complete annual reviews of assigned commercial loan relationships to ensure current information in credit file and accurate risk ratings.
  • Develops written analysis of the Companys vendors/municipalities.
  • Participates in special projects/duties as assigned.
  • Attends training as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exercises a high level of review authority over own work and over the work of less experienced staff. Coaches, trains, and educates less experienced staff in credit analysis, documentation, financial analysis, and research techniques as well as departmental and Company policies, processes and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-Year College degree (two semesters of accounting preferred), or equivalent combination of course work and work experience.
  • 5 – 7 years Commercial Credit/Lending experience.
  • Strong communication, written and analytical skills
  • Strong PC Skills (Spreadsheet and Word Processing)
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service skills, and a team orientation.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and under deadlines, and able to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands.
