Job Overview

Komatsu Company Stores East is pleased to offer multiple Internship, Diesel Technician opportunities at each one of our locations in State College, PA, Harrisburg, PA, Hatfield, PA, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Baltimore, MD and Laurel, DE.

These opportunities will provide the Intern, Diesel Technician the opportunity to work along-side a skilled Diesel Technician and learn the fundamentals of Shop Safety, Hydraulics, Electrical, Undercarriages, Powertrains, Engines, etc.   

Key Job Responsibilities

Demonstrate safe shop working practices; 

Perform basic diagnosis procedures on equipment utilizing current test equipment; 

Prepare and follow specific repair orders; 

Employ service manuals and instructions in prescribing corrective repairs; 

Perform basic maintenance and repair on equipment; 

Follow work directives; 

Collaborate with other employees; 

Report to work on time and on a regular basis and record a minimum of 240 total hours; and follow employer policies and procedures; 

Presentation of Capstone Project 

Qualifications/Requirements

Be enrolled in the appropriate degree program and have completed any appropriate prerequisites. 

Have an overall cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better.

Complete an Application for Internship form (if applicable to your school)

Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.

PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills.

Travel: Some travel may be required.
