Summary You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the AEGIS Branch (Code 296), Combat Systems (Weapons) Division (Code 290), Engineering Department (Code 200), of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR. Responsibilities You will assist the team through knowledge and application of leadership and team building skills and techniques such as group facilitation, coordination, coaching, problem solving, and interpersonal communication. You will function as the AEGIS Lead for various ships in connection with on-scene direct fleet support. You will ensure that MARMC’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. You will communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. You will identify, distribute and balance workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. You will arrange for the training of team members to accomplish tasks or projects, and provide or arrange for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience leading functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of AEGIS and SPY Radar systems. Experience providing technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports or similar problems affecting AEGIS and SPY Radar equipment, frequently on temporary duty (TDY), beyond reach of supervisory assistance/guidance, without customary references, and requiring direct communications with ships officers. Experience performing special engineering analyses and studies in support of Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA). Experience training or arranging for the training of AEGIS and SPY Radar team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish AEGIS and SPY Radar tasks or projects. Experience preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinating the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor. Experience articulating and communicating to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Experience monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisors instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met.
