Job Description
Responsible to lead the technical effort on smaller projects. Ensures that base business projects are completed. Requires technical understanding in a business area to ensure best value capital and technically correct solutions. Requires knowledge of the Engineering Work Process and Capital Management Systems, and IWS. Requires extensive computer skills including SAP capital, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project. May also fill specialist roles in HS&E or Tech Safety. Due to the specialist nature of these roles, details are very site specific.
Job Qualifications
5 yrs. experience in identifying corrosion mechanisms in metals and failure mechanisms of polymers, coatings, and FRP
5 yrs. experience in performing specialized corrosion tests on metals and compatibility tests for coatings a plastics. This includes DOT corrosion testing, use of Atlas test cells, other required specialized equipment.
Ability to interpret corrosion test results for metals, polymers, and coatings.
5 yrs. experience using test data making recommendations for materials of construction and communicating and documenting test sluts and recommendations in formal reports.
5 yrs experience working effectively communicating with and serving technical customers from various Engineering and R&D organizations.
Ability to manage database programs and apps to automate customer interface as well as maintain and improve computer systems required to manage the Corrosion Testing Lab.
Ability to work independently in a technical customer service organization.
Ability to follow Health and safety guidelines and assure all safe work practices are followed while working the lab.
