Job Description:
Under light supervision, performs basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water distribution and related water resources projects (ex; distribution system water quality; water supply planning and systems; climate change adaptation; integrated resource planning; irrigation; pressure conduits; resiliency and redundancy, etc.).
Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
Reviews the work of more junior staff.
Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
Utilizes TKM systems and TKM material.
May pose technical questions that support development of the TKM body of knowledge. May support TKM content development as directed.
Performs other duties as required.
May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
5 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Water modeling and master planning experience using Bentley WaterGEMS
Water modeling and master planning experience using Autodesk InfoWater
Water master planning experience for mid-size to large water systems (100,000 population or more)
Water model calibration experience using fire flow tests

Skills and Abilities:
Solid knowledge in at least two of the following water distribution modeling platforms:
– Bentley (WaterCAD/WaterGEMS)
– Autodesk (InfoWater/InfoWater Pro)
– Aquanuity (AquaTwin Water).
Solid knowledge of GIS software and practices.
Solid knowledge of constructing, calibrating, and updating hydraulic models using GIS, billing, SCADA and other available data.
Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
Solid knowledge of hydraulics and water system planning as appropriate for technical work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
Solid knowledge of other support tools such as mathematical models, scripting languages, etc
Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

Pay Range Minimum:
$79,373
Pay Range Maximum:
$126,984
Additional Compensation:
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
