Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Job Description

Performs waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity testing on patient specimens. Correlates and interprets data utilizing critical thinking skills and knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments. Involved in teaching and training students, new employees, and residents/medical students. Effectively performs problem resolution, equipment maintenance, reagent preparation, and test result data entry. Successfully and timely completes all required competency assessments.

– Performs testing and interprets and verifies results

– Required to adjust to fluctuating workloads

– Performs quality control procedures and documentation

– Performs corrective action as appropriate

– Documents out-of-control situations providing details, results and corrective action taken

– Follow procedures as well as perform and document instrument maintenance

Qualifications

Medical Lab Scientist or Technician Degree

ASCP or AMT Certification

Blood Bank experience

Soft Skills

Critical thinking

Problem resolution

Teaching and training

Work Environment

3rd Shift 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. Monday – Friday weekend/holiday rotation as well as on-call rotation

(3rd Shift Part-time opening. They will work 2 days one week and then 3 days the next week. The weekend/holiday and on-call rotation is required as well)
