Purpose/Introduction

The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company’s financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.

The Consolidations & Reporting Manager reports to the Corporate Controller and oversees the company’s financial reporting activities for CPChem LLC and Golden Triangle Polymers Company LLC. This position manages a team of three direct reports, but also collaborates extensively with other groups within and outside of the Finance organization. ​​​​​​​

Responsibilities

Leads the monthly financial close process for the company.

Oversees monthly consolidation processes, including foreign currency remeasurement and translation, elimination of internal balances and activities, equity method accounting for the company’s eleven joint ventures, and reconciliation between SAP and the company’s reporting software, Planful.

Maintains records supporting CPChem’s investment and equity accounts.

Oversees the preparation of monthly consolidated income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement and related product line reports.

Oversees the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and footnotes.

Oversees the preparation of annual audited financial statements and statutory filings for five CPChem employee benefit plans.

Manages audit processes, coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient completion of audits and reviews.

Reviews and provides comments on foreign subsidiaries’ and equity affiliates annual audited financial statements and footnotes.

Prepares various other internal and external reports and analysis as needed.

Drives continuous improvement initiatives, adopting leading practices for accounting teams to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, OR Bachelors degree and a CPA

Minimum of 10 years of varied accounting experience

The successful candidate must have demonstrated a very strong understanding of accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP

Must demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure that group work products are accurate and complete

Proficiency in the use of software applications and Microsoft Excel required

Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications

A CPA certification is highly preferred

Experience preparing financial statements

Experience with Planful or similar software

Experience with Blackline
