Power Generation Field Technician/Diesel Mechanic

QUALIFICATIONS

·        2 to 5 years field service experience and knowledge of generator maintenance and repair on all brands of emergency standby and prime power applications of generators and automatic transfer switches. Knowledge and experience of electronic and mechanical components.

·        Must have the ability to diagnose and repair all brands of generators and automatic transfer switches.

·        Must have a strong understanding of electricity and how to make and distribute electrical power.

·        Must have a strong understanding of all engine types and combustion engines (gasoline, gaseous, diesel, liquid cooled and air cooled engines)

·        Must have own mechanics tools and electrical meter. Company supplies all specialty tools, equipment, computer, phone, uniforms and work truck.

·        Applicant must be able to use a laptop and have knowledge of excel and outlook. Must be able to use smart phone.

·        Must be able to be a self starter, work unsupervised and alone.

·        Must be available to be on call when needed.

·        Must be able to comply with company policies and standards of conduct.

·        Must be able to conduct work in high stress situations and time restraints.

·        Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds, have a strong work ethic and ability to work long hours. This position requires stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, standing or sitting for long periods of time and working in small work spaces. Must be able to work in loud environments and remain safe from dangers of working with machinery.

·        Applicant needs to be a team player and work well with others.

·        Must be authorized to work in the United States of America, have a clean driving record and pass a pre-employment background check to include drug screening and criminal history check.

RESPONSIBILITES

·        The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are to perform inspections on customers generators, requiring the technician to drive to the site, interact with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.

·        Must be able to keep a clean appearance and keep work areas clean and free from clutter.

·        Use excel program to fill out field reports in a timely manner.

·        Assessing and report urgency of all needed repairs as well as accurately identifying any and all defective parts to be ordered including part numbers, serial numbers and photos.

·        Stay organized, keep track of time and have the ability to work long hours including some nights, early mornings and weekends in any weather condition.

·        Be able to troubleshoot any issues with the generator and/or equipment that is used.

·        Be willing to travel out of state with staying over night at some locations.
