This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair and testing of a wide range of electrical equipment such as programmable logic controllers, generators, motors, transformers, control panels, cables, power distribution systems and associated switchgear in the plant. This position will assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example. This includes predictive, preventive and proactive electrical maintenance analysis. He/she must work to all codes and regulations while making electrical installations, adjustments and repairs in plant and office environments as well as assist outside contractors on major projects. This position requires a broad working knowledge of electric and electronics principles, formulas and applications.
Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Advise supervisor and or management immediately on whether continued operation of electrical equipment could be hazardous to the facility.
Provide assistance during emergencies by operating generators, UPS’s, switchgears, or any other duties to keep facility operating electrically. Respond and troubleshoot electrical equipment problems within the company-owned facilities. Assist in maintaining inspection and maintenance of life safety systems
Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes or as directed by supervisor. Insure compliance with federal and state codes. Other duties or projects as assigned or requested
Plan layout and install electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Instruct 1-2 lower level technicians and guiding temporary and seasonal employees in general labor and basic work procedures and safe working practices.
Train “ready-replacement” technician
Develop, coordinate and communicate proposed schedules for periodic testing of critical equipment and installations with Supervisor and key Data Center operations personnel. Maintain accurate records regarding equipment maintenance and replacements.
Required Qualifications:
-5 years of experience as an electrician – this may include professional experience or an apprenticeship or other education (i.e. BS. Electrical Engineering)

High School Diploma or GED required
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$21.10 – $40.90
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
