Growing Food Manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician (2nd shift) to join their team in Fullerton, CA!
Shift: 2pm-10:30pm PST, with occasional weekend.
Pay rate: $22-$23/hr
Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for carrying out SOP’S related to Food Safety and Quality. This includes document control, scanning documents, filing, data entry, lab work, and production floor presence.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Op and operational sanitation plant inspection.
Perform ATP and environmental swabs.
Perform chemical and physical analysis of products in-process and finished items as needed: pH, AW, TA BX, CONSISTENCY, Viscosity, Color, Organoleptic, and as necessary.
Check plant equipment calibration: thermometer, scales.
Manage laboratory equipment, materials, and procedures, and implement operational safety guidelines.
Calibrate Lab Equipment.
Plant verification temperatures: coolers, freezer, processing room, and Warehouse.
Ensure conformance to specifications: daily formula and specifications performance review, and daily processing and packaging process reviews.
Perform daily HACCP Verifications and records review.
Raw material, work in-process and finished products inventory rotation verification.
Safety and Quality
Daily metal detector verification.
Label verification and approval.
Daily review and reconciliation of all QA/QC records, including HACCP, Net Weight, etc.
Prepare and distribute HOLD reports.
Compile information and create reports.
Interface with the USDA inspectors: Report immediately any discrepancies. Recommend corrective actions. Recommend preventative measures.
Daily employee hygienic practices audit.
Recommend and enforce corrective and preventative measures to improve plant sanitation, employee hygienic practices and product safety standards.
Assist the QA Manager in continuous improvement efforts and follow up on corrective actions implementation.
Ensure that all department personnel are using proper procedures, work instructions, forms, tools, and equipment established for the jobs they perform.
Keep QA Manager informed about problems and opportunities for improvement.
Create and maintain accurate inspections files and prepare reports summarizing inspection results.
Employee training. To promote and ensure the hygienic handling of product and other sanitary requirements including HACCP, SSOP’s and GMP’s to ensure cleanliness in the preparation and handling of edible product.

Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED, plus 2 year of food manufacturing experience.
Must have familiarity performing sanitation checks.
Ability to evaluate and report product and process quality.
Ability to recommend and implement product, process, and sanitation improvements.
