Job Description
As a 2025 Operations AbbVie Student COOP, the student participates in a paid program that is focused on providing students with robust projects and with the opportunity to work with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. As an Intern/COOP, the student will be located at one of our Operations sites at Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. AbbVie’s worldwide business offers an opportunity for a variety of potential work experiences that are aligned to a variety of functional areas, including (but not limited to):
Manufacturing – Engineering
Quality – Science & Technology
Technical Services
Facilities &/or Utilities Engineering
Supply Chain
Finance
BTS (Business Technology Solutions)
Responsibilities:
Perform various projects as assigned.
Participate in social/networking and learning & development activities.
Willingness to do meaningful work that has a real impact on our business and patients worldwide.
Present to the staff leaders, managers, and mentors the achievements of the assigned projects as well as the main learnings gained during the program.
Support operations in accordance with environmental management, occupational health, and safety (EH&S) systems and promote continuous improvement. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.
Qualifications
Must be completed at least three (3) years of college education in one of the following degrees: Industrial Biotechnology, Natural Science (Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry), Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems, or Software) or Business Administration (Material Management, Computer Systems and/or Finance).
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate-level program at an accredited university.
Strong academic performance. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and extracurricular achievements.
Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills (English and Spanish).
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
Previous COOP or Internship experience is preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
