Job Description:

The Manager, Collections & Recovery manages or oversees one or more business unit or section of the Collection or Recovery Department.

This role manages call center inbound and outbound agents, collecting on delinquent accounts for checking, savings and consumer loans, to mitigate loss to the bank. Additional responsibilities include develop, engage and assist on strategy call efforts, identify trends, and overall development of new hire classes.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm EST

Candidate should be within a commutable driving distance of Greenville SC, Falmouth ME, Jacksonville FL or Phoenix AZ to attend any in-person office meetings.

Depth & Scope:

Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

Oversees activities of multiple functions and/or teams within collections to the development of strategic plans for areas of responsibility; Provides leadership and corporate vision for areas of responsibility

Provides leadership in the absence of the department manager or may represent the interests of the department in committees, presentations, etc.

Prepares regular and customized in-depth reports and information summarizing various aspects of unit(s) activities; Interprets important aspects of reports for management

Participates in development and management of department budget, including managing collections or recovery activities in own area to an assigned charge off budget goal

Contributes to development of unit policies and procedures in coordination with department management; ensures adherence to policies, procedures, standards and guidelines; Coordinates unit compliance with overall department guidelines as well as regulatory agencies

Responsible for the management of department data processing, telephone and other systems; Monitors performance of systems and communicates feedback to department management and directly to vendors as appropriate

Audits staff work to ensure that day-to-day policies and procedures are followed, and productivity levels are maintained; Coordinates with internal and external auditors, providing information and incorporating recommended changes as needed

Education & Experience:

4 Year Degree or equivalent experience

5 Years of related experience

Strong understanding of consumer collections or recovery practices.

Detailed knowledge of Company products/services and offerings.

Supervisory experience required.

Organizational ability.

Problem solving skills.

Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience with related systems.

Strong PC skills.

Green Belt Certification preferred
