Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Medical Technologist with a NY State Medical Technologist license or a Medical Laboratory Science degree. The candidate will conduct hematology testing, including routine CBC, platelet concentrate quality control, WBC counting, pH testing of platelets, and processing and examination of peripheral blood smears. Additionally, the candidate will perform microbiology testing, specifically SDP bacterial impurities alert. The lead tech will serve as a point person, working the bench, providing guidance, and resolving unexpected issues such as instrument malfunctions.

This is a fully on-site position in Brentwood, New York.
Work Environment
The candidate will process 100-250 samples per day on site in the QC/Reference Lab, which includes hematology, microbiology, and blood bank related testing. The lab team consists of 4 Medical Technologists, 1 Lead Technologist, a supervisor, and a manager. The candidate must be open to working weekends and holidays, with a rotating shift. Training will occur during the first shift for the first 6 weeks.
