Engineering Project Manager – Torpedo Program

Responsibilities:

 

– Lead a team of engineers to successfully deliver advanced Torpedo Guidance and Control systems, ensuring technical performance meets cost, scope, and schedule requirements.
– Oversee integration, testing, and verification of project deliverables, addressing and resolving technical issues promptly.
– Develop and maintain engineering plans, manage risks, track opportunities, and ensure adherence to program standards and change management processes.
– Conduct monthly engineering status reviews, contribute to program reviews, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
– Collaborate with senior leadership and program managers to ensure smooth execution of engineering tasks, staffing, and resource management.
– Motivate and provide performance feedback to the engineering team, fostering innovation and alignment with project goals.
– Provide input for Research and Development areas relevant to future torpedo program initiatives.

Qualifications:

 

– Education: BSEE or related STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Masters degree with 6 years of experience.
– Experience:
– Proven leadership experience in systems engineering, managing cost, schedule, and technical aspects of projects.
– Expertise with Navy labs, Surface/Undersea systems, or torpedo systems, including guidance and control systems for the Department of Defense.
– Hands-on experience with acoustic sensors, signal processing, and high-reliability systems.
– Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing, geographically distributed teams.
– Experience resolving conflicts, managing stakeholders, and escalating risks or issues to senior leadership for timely resource allocation.
– Skills/Expertise: Knowledge of target detection, acquisition, prosecution, cyber-secure systems, and cutting-edge technologies relevant to torpedo systems.
