Responsibilities:

Organize patient schedules and manage patient flow, accompanying individuals to exam and procedure rooms as needed.

Assist patients with mobility, transfers, dressing, and specimen collection while preparing them for examinations.

Collect patient histories, vital signs, and perform screenings per provider guidelines, relaying important instructions to patients and families.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations when sending and receiving patient medical records.

Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, and maintain infection control by cleaning between visits and following maintenance protocols.

Manage inventory of supplies, restocking exam rooms, and completing necessary forms and requisitions for lab/x-ray reports and referrals.

Perform clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, while assisting physicians during procedures and documenting all patient information accurately.

Maintain strict confidentiality of medical records, comply with OSHA and CLIA regulations, and administer medications and vaccines under physician supervision.

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities

Preferred:

Medical Assistant experience

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

Act 33 with renewal

Act 34 with renewal
