Job Summary and Qualifications
Performs various functions to assist the Pharmacist in providing medications for inpatients and outpatients at the Hospital. Plays an instrumental role in orienting and training new Technicians in the department. The non-certified Pharmacy Tech is required to perform various clerical and housekeeping duties as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
· Must have Pharmacy Technician in Training or Pharmacy Technician license from the State of Indiana.
· All of the instructions on how to obtain/apply for Pharmacy Tech in Training or Pharmacy Tech license are on the Indiana Board of Pharmacy website under Technician License
· Certification: BLS must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
Valued but not required educational/licensure, skills and experience:
· Strong problem solving skills.
· Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician along with advanced experience or knowledge in computer use, dose calculations, medical terminology, and medical abbreviations
· Above average communication skills in all forms · Understands and satisfies the needs of the patient population appropriate to the age of the patient served (adults, geriatric, adolescent, pediatric, and parents of neonates)
Hours: Full time mixed shift (weekends rotate)
