Job Title: Mechanical SuperintendentJob Description

Our trades general contractor client is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent responsible for providing on-site coordination for all skilled journey-level Mechanical Installers and their apprentices during different phases of multi-construction projects. Duties include coordination of employees, subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that installation specifications are strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule. The Mechanical Superintendent will also oversee start-up inspections, shutdowns, quality control, and job site safety.

Hard Skills

Minimum of 10 years verifiable experience in the design and installation of manufacturing systems (e.g., cooling tower water, chiller systems, material handling, compressed air)

Understanding of design concepts and system integration in industrial and manufacturing environments

Thorough knowledge of building trades

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Supervisory skills for mechanical employees, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors

Knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance with PPE

Blueprint reading

Current valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Soft Skills

Organizational skills

Problem-solving skills

Effective communication with teams and project managers

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chesterfield, Michigan.

Work Environment

This role includes 50% travel in and out of state (Ohio, Texas, Indiana, etc.), with travel typically 2-3 days/week and 12-hour days when traveling. For local projects, the schedule is 5 days/week, 8-hour days.
